WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING ANY SUBMISSIONS FOR THE ASSIGNMENT OR THE CHALLENGE????? *tears hair out*

A new revolution has come to my attention -
"the comment revolution", that is. Do you want better criticism for your works? Are you tired of vague, one word comments? Visit the this page to find out how you can help people provide more efficient and effective critiques.

MARCH MADNESS
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1) During the month of March, there will be no Assignment or Challenge.
2) Instead, BE members participating in March Madness must write FIFTEEN polished short stories. By polished I mean they should have no spelling or grammatical mistakes. (This is to ensure that a little time is spent on these so that they have at least some quality).
3) If you think 15 is a little harsh, this is supposed to be very challenging and a big committment. The idea is to mimic NaNoWriMo, except for short stories instead of a novel.
4) AT LEAST ONE of these stories must be a collaboration with another deviant. This other deviant does not have to be a BE member or a prose writer. You could collab with a poet to produce a prose-poem or with an artist for character sketches or illustrations!
5) BE members who want to participate in March Madness should note the club before March 1 to sign up. I ENCOURAGE EVERY SERIOUS SHORT STORYIST TO DO THIS. IT IS GREAT FOR DISCIPLINE!

Assignment:

The first assignment of the new order!

Well, it's not quite that overpowering, but it is the first assignment that =
Alezandrane is working on, so it is a tad new.

Here it is:

Pick up the nearest dictionary and flip to the following pages:
* 24
*28
*56
*90
*3
On each of these pages, find the word that is the first, third, and fifth. In any order in the course of your story, you need to use at least 12 of these 15 words.

I am seriously curious what this will end up bringing about. Good luck to all and please send in your links A.S.A.P.!

[MEMBERS: You are allowed to submit to both the monthly and the BE Challenge!]
The Almighty BE CHALLENGE:
[Will be closed until 2 + 2 = 4. Which means it's open. Hurrah.]
Give a prominent place in your story to something that many people do, but that no one likes to admit doing. For example, spitting out the window onto the street, or rubbing Clorox Wipes under your arms (or unusual sex pratices, as long as you keep it elegant and not R-rated. For examples of how to do this, see all writing by ~
nerdWithAWhip).
AND since no one is submitting, I decided to make this one a little easier. You do NOT have to begin one out of every six words with the same letter. The idea behind doing that was to create a theme in sound, so that the whole story, depending on the letter you chose, sounded violent, sad, mellow, jubilant, etc. This mirrored a writing exercise I once did in English class.
Now, however, I decree that as long as a "sound theme" is established, you do not have to worry about counting words that begin with a certain letter. Thank you, have a nice write.
